By 2025, the industry will be short of 70,000 employees. The situation has recently been worsened by the advantageousness of early retirement after 40 years worked. This involves thousands of workers annually, but above all an enormous accumulated experience in professions that cannot be quickly replaced by retrained workers.
Easing of migration policy
An easing of migration policy, which was recently pushed through partly thanks to the Association of Industrial Unions and Transport, can help. Another option is optimisation of the education system so that even the long-term unemployed can more easily retrain.
