Further millions for companies are coming soon. Many did not wait for the state with green energy and helped themselves

Because of the energy crisis, companies are considering green energy. The state is also lending a helping hand with European money. One example is the Modernisation Fund. Experts criticise that not every company can access the funding. They therefore propose changes.

To support this transformation, we have the Modernisation Fund in Slovakia. This year it has so far redistributed 317 million euros to non-environmentally-friendly players. The next call from the Modernisation Fund had a deadline at the end of June.

The fund does not help everyone

Experts say that thanks to the energy crisis the interest of domestic enterprises in green transformation has increased.

According to him, there is demand for improving the energy parameters of buildings and, of course, for production from renewable sources. The players know that if they did not take such steps, they would lose orders. Investors, especially in the West, require that the product be manufactured in the factory with the lowest possible carbon footprint.

But the transition to a green economy is not simple. The biggest obstacle is usually the investment that many entrepreneurs lack, especially after the energy crisis. In this case the state should, according to Lasz, lend a helping hand. But even there the rules should improve. Especially in the already mentioned Modernisation Fund, which, according to him, does not provide help to everyone.

From the latest announced call, after all, only large factories were selected, with most of the funding swallowed up precisely by the Košice steelworks. Many players may therefore fear that most of the funding from this fund will again go to yet another large factory.
