Are you an employer who has long been preparing pupils in the dual education system? Check the validity of your certificate. If the end of its seven-year validity is approaching, it is necessary to undergo repeated verification of eligibility so that you can continue smoothly in the dual education system.
What not to forget if you want to continue in dual education
Employers involved in the dual education system obtain a certificate of eligibility to provide practical instruction with a validity of seven years. After this period elapses, undergoing the process of repeated verification is essential for further operation in the system.
When to start?
The employer is obliged to deliver a notification of interest in continuing in the system no later than three months before the expiry of the certificate's validity. The notification can also be sent electronically to the relevant trade or professional organisation.
The Association of Industrial Unions and Transport verifies eligibility for fields from the group of fields engineering and electrical engineering (23, 24 and 26). Timely submission of the notification is key to ensuring the continuity of practical instruction without interruption. You can find a template of the notification at the end of the article.
Possibility of changing the trade or professional organisation
If you have so far been verified by another trade or professional organisation, you can, within the repeated verification, also request verification through the Association of Industrial Unions and Transport, and that only in the fields of engineering and electrical engineering. We will be happy to guide you through the entire process.
What follows?
On the basis of the delivered notification, the relevant trade or professional organisation will carry out an inspection of the practical instruction workplace. It is verified whether the employer continues to meet the conditions laid down by law for the preparation of pupils.
If the conditions are met, an addendum to the certificate is issued with validity for a further seven years. The original of the addendum is subsequently delivered to the address of the employer's registered office.
Why is it important?
Repeated verification of eligibility is not merely an administrative obligation. It represents confirmation of the quality of the workplace, the professional background and the readiness of the employer to participate in the systematic preparation of future qualified workers. At the same time, it strengthens the stability and trustworthiness of the dual education system.
Important notice
If the validity of the certificate expires during the school year (for example on 18 October or 20 March), the certificate is considered valid until the end of the relevant school year, that is, until 31 August of the given school year.
