The Green for Businesses project will make it possible to obtain a grant of up to 70 thousand euros for RES

Through the upcoming Green for Businesses project, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises will be able to obtain a financial contribution of up to 70 thousand euros for the preparation of energy audits and the installation of suitable equipment for the use of renewable energy sources, primarily for their own consumption.

The new project is intended to help especially small and medium-sized entrepreneurs from all areas except agriculture, but also those who could not use the Green for Households project because they used their family house also for business. The vouchers will also be available to persons doing business on the basis of a permit other than a trade licence under special regulations, for example lawyers, notaries or doctors.

It should be a grant in the form of vouchers worth at most 70 thousand euros per one ID number (IČO) through the de minimis scheme. This means that more than one application may be submitted per ID number, but only up to the maximum amount of the contribution, namely the mentioned 70 thousand euros. The intensity of the aid may be at most 35 % for eligible activities and a maximum of 45 % for the energy audit. Supported will be the installation of heat pumps, solar collectors, photovoltaic panels and wind turbines, which do not harm the EU's environmental protection objectives. Energy storage will also be supported. For electricity generation equipment the installed capacity is limited to 250kW.

For now, over 66 million euros is allocated for the project, of which 22 million for enterprises in the Bratislava self-governing region and 44 million euros for the other regions. It is recommended to also have a so-called purpose energy audit prepared by a professionally qualified person, which will most likely be part of the application for the contribution. It will determine the RES potential and set the size of the installation. The equipment proposed in the energy audit will have to be installed no later than within six months of the valid effect of the Contract on the provision of the voucher.

A major benefit of the upcoming Green for Businesses call is that it will not be necessary to prepare a „big“ project. The energy audit will determine the exact size of the installation, and thanks to the omission of a list of equipment and a list of contractors, enterprises will have a greater choice.

The call is in the stage of final adjustments and has not yet been announced.
