Call to support photovoltaic power plants and battery systems for enterprises

The Ministry of Economy published on 20 October 2023 a call to support the construction of new facilities for generating electricity from renewable energy sources and to support increasing the flexibility of electricity systems for greater integration of RES - battery systems. The aim of the call is to increase the share of electricity generated from renewable energy sources (RES) in gross final energy consumption. 

The call is open until 15 January 2024 and the allocation amounts to 63.74 million euros excluding VAT. The maximum amount of support for a project whose subject is exclusively a new RES electricity generation facility is 2.5 million euros. The maximum amount of support for a project whose subject is, in addition to a new RES electricity generation facility, also a battery system, is 5 million euros.

The following activities are eligible:

• construction of a new RES electricity generation facility
• construction of a new facility for storing electricity from RES (battery system)

The applicant may be any economic operator registered in the Slovak Republic; it must not be an enterprise in difficulty, in execution proceedings or in bankruptcy, and must not have overdue liabilities towards the Financial Administration and the Social Insurance Agency.
